How To: Tie a Blanket Scarf

I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that my blanket scarf has been my most worn piece this winter. I wear it over jackets, sweaters, dresses…I wrap myself up in it at my desk, I toss it over my shoulders when I’m at a girlfriend’s or when I’m out for dinner…let’s just say that it’s my socially acceptable (and stylish) security blanket.

Because of it’s ability to keep your face warm without making you look like you’re about to knock over a bank, this chameleon of the accessory world is quickly becoming the cold-weather-braving fashionista’s go-to item. There are typically 2 types of blanket scarves: a square one and an oblong or rectangular one. While a square one is slightly more versatile (i.e. there are a couple more ways to wear it), a rectangular blanket scarf might be a better option for those of you that are more petite and are worried about getting swallowed up in extra yards of fabric. Ok, so I know that a blanket scarf might not look like much on the shelf, but you’ll be amazed at all the different ways you can tie it, flip it and roll it into that perfect finishing touch.
