Hi friends… CeeCee here. My niece’s birthday is coming up and I’ve been stressing about what to get her. It’s been awhile (okay, maybe a long while) since I was a “teen” and my two little monkeys are not quite there yet, so I’m a little bit out of the loop when it comes to what’s “in” for a 15 year old. Nothing is worse than buying someone a gift that they don’t like and watch it get re-gifted or donated. Plus … I’m the “cool aunt”, she expects me to know all the trends … and I don’t want to lose that title! Thankfully, after doing some research and shopping around a little, I was able to find a few things that I know my niece would die for.
If you’re on a budget, these wrap bracelets from Street make a wonderful present. Since the Chan Lu bracelets came out a couple of seasons ago, I’ve been seeing teens wearing wrap beaded bracelets around town. Honestly, I can understand why … they go with practically everything!
Available at Street $19*
If you have teens of your own, you probably know that crop tops are a huge fashion statement this year. Short sleeves, long sleeves, lace, plain, printed … you name it and there is a crop top version. Although I know that it can create a bit of a risqué look when paired with the wrong bottoms, it is actually incredibly cute with high-waisted jeans, shorts, and skirts.
Available at Street $26*
Double denim is in again! Not everyone can rock it, but if anyone can … it will most likely be a “teen” who gets this look right. I love this jean jacket from Street because of the wash. It’s also a great piece to buy for the upcoming fall season – she can pair it with a sweater or a plaid shirt, and she’ll be trendy and cozy for school.
Available at Street $60*
Toms are still in and they’re loved by every teen … girl or boy. They’re easy since they’re just slip-ons, perfect for those who get out of bed late and are rushing to get to school.
Available at Street $65*
Coquitlam Centre Gift Card
For those who don’t want to take a risk and want to give their teens a little freedom on what they get for their birthday, then a Coquitlam Centre Gift Card is always an excellent option. You can give any denomination between $5 and $500, and in some teens eyes … money is the “perfect gift”!
Available at Guest Services $5-$500*
